Your novel needs copyediting if it has already had a structural or developmental edit, or if you feel strongly that the structure and flow of your manuscript is already in great shape.
A copyedit focuses on the text of your story: the spelling, style, sentence structure and consistency of all elements, line by line. It tidies, tightens and smooths out (it is not a time for major surgery). A copyedit raises any issues or concerns, suggests ways to fine-tune the pace and flow of the novel, and highlights small timeline issues or holes in the story. It ensures your novel is working as best it can, page by page, line by line.
For a copyedit, you’ll receive your manuscript edited with track changes in Microsoft Word, a style sheet and editorial notes. My fees also include consultation after you receive the edit.
Prices for copyediting start at $2500 for a 70,000-word novel.

Note: I offer a discount to those who hire me to structurally edit and copyedit the same project.
